Leah was born into a family of artists. She has lived art and design
her whole life. Her father started out as a high school art teacher and
then moved on to designing sets and backdrops for movies, TV and
commercials. Her mother also loved art and she was always there to
help with the design of sets. In high school, Leah decided that she had
all the fun she wanted painting and dressing sets. She wanted a life in
politics. What else was a child of “liberal” artist parents supposed to
do to rebel? She moved to Washington, DC and pursued that life.
After three years she decided that was enough. She packed her
bags and headed home where she met her husband and began a new
stage of her life.
Her new life began as a “stay at home mom”. Her friends started
coming by her home to visit and saw her hidden talents. Her nurseries
were always ones to be envied, with floor to ceiling murals, and all the
accessories and bedding to coordinate. She started out painting murals
and designing children’s rooms for friends and family. Eventually, others
recognized her talents and before she knew what happened…a career was
built. In the last 10 plus years her career has evolved into the design and
decorating of every room in the house.
As her career grew, she recognized how blessed she was and started donating her time to her community. She has volunteered in many different capacities; decorating and organizing social events, heading social committees, and running a shelter for Hurricane Katrina victims. She also designed the children’s rotation Sunday school rooms in 2003 and recently redesigned those same rooms to enhance the new curriculum. She is currently working with the youth department to redesign their area. Leah has also led Interior Design for “House on the Corner”, 8 of the 10 years of this mission program. This is a Habitat/Extreme Home Makeover concept. In 2011, she was honored with the opportunity to chair the Interior Design Committee for a new multimillion dollar church sanctuary. The facility is not only beautiful but has a Silver Award in LEED certification. She learned much in environmentally sustainable construction, and the commercial end of design. This project has definitely broadened her horizons.

Throughout her career, Leah has designed and managed hundreds of projects, both large and small, commercial and residential. Her work has appeared locally on television and in newspapers. She has also received awards and recognition for her work. However, most importantly, she has hundreds of satisfied clients.
Leah Young has been told by many people that she is a true talent and she has finally admitted it to herself. After a lifetime of searching she has become what she was born to be …
