A Closer Look

Last week we teased our latest project! Here is a closer look at the living room! To jog your memory, here are the before and afters we gave you last week.

Before After

Look at what a fresh coat of paint can do! The lighter paint color open and brightens this space. The high ceilings can now show off and the exposed beams pop with the new wall color. We also decided to use a similar color for the built-ins. We know that keeping a consistent color and style doesn't take away from space, but allows the eyes to focus on the room as a whole and not broken up by the different colors along the perimeter.

Another way we brought this room out of the dark was by swapping the dark furniture with this cloud like couch, and a lighter rug. With dark wood floors, having contrast with a rug put the room on another level. Keeping some darker accents like the chair and chest, gives the room that extra something. We also love the natural wood found as seen with the coffee table and the bench.

Accents! We love adding these extra pieces to our rooms. Not too cluttered to take away from the room as a whole, but as a way to add color and character.
