This powder bathroom proves that even the smallest spaces can make the biggest design statements. Rather than playing it safe, this renovation embraced bold choices, layered materials, and rich color, showing that a small bathroom is the perfect place to take design risks.

One of the standout features is the fearless mix of wallpaper and tile. In a space where many would opt for simplicity, this powder bath leans into contrast and texture. The patterned wallpaper brings personality and movement, while the tile adds depth and grounding structure. Together, they create a dynamic balance that feels intentional rather than overwhelming.

Designing this room was no small feat. With not a single wall the same size and multiple angles throughout, the layout presented unique challenges. Instead of fighting the architecture, the design works with it, using material changes and thoughtful transitions to guide the eye and celebrate the room’s quirks.

The tiled wall acts as a visual anchor, grounding the busy pattern of the wallpaper and providing a sense of order within the asymmetrical space. Above it all, the black ceiling ties everything together. By drawing the eye upward and softening the visual breaks created by the angles, the dark ceiling creates cohesion and gives the room a finished, intentional feel.
This powder bath is a reminder that small spaces don’t need to be subtle. In fact, they’re often the best place to go big. With the right mix of materials, color, and confidence, even the most challenging room can become one of the most memorable spaces in the home.
