Some rooms begin with a fabric or a paint color, but this dining room began with a piece of family history. The inspiration for the entire space came from the client’s beloved “Dead Fish” heirloom painting a meaningful artwork filled with rich, moody tones that set the direction for every design decision that followed.

From the moment you enter the home, the dining room was intended to make a statement. The client’s goal was to create a true show stopper while still maintaining a welcoming atmosphere that could comfortably host family gatherings and celebrations. The result is a space that feels dramatic, layered, and deeply personal.

The color palette became the heart of the design. Rich rust tones, earthy greens, and warm neutrals work together to create depth and warmth throughout the room. These colors feel bold without overwhelming the space, striking a balance between sophistication and comfort.

One of the most unexpected elements is the black and white drapery accented with subtle hints of gold. The pattern adds movement and contrast, giving the room an energetic focal point while complementing the richer tones found throughout the space. The gold details catch the light beautifully, adding just the right amount of polish.

Above, the ceiling painted in Mediterranean Teal transforms the room entirely. Rather than fading into the background, the ceiling becomes part of the experience, drawing the eye upward and enveloping the space in color. It creates an intimate, dramatic feeling that makes the dining room unforgettable.

The rug was equally important in tying the design together. Positioned between the dining room and the nearby living room, it helps create continuity between the spaces by carrying the same rich tones and warmth throughout the home. This visual connection allows the rooms to feel cohesive while still maintaining their own distinct personalities.
