There was definitely some movement in this kitchen, and the new layout just makes sense. This functional island is home to the same items as the previous countertop, with the addition of the microwave and more space for preparing and serving. Having a uniform height in the kitchen gives you so much room!

Moving the items along the perimeter of the kitchen and centering the oven made a huge difference in the flow of the kitchen and the amount of open counter space.

The bar and mudroom are also perfect additions to this space. The beverage fridge, built in wine rack, and storage for glasses of every shape and size frees up space in the main part of the kitchen. The client wanted an area dedicated for dropping off items when entering their home to keep things looking organized. The mudroom was the perfect solution!
