Where the Office Gathers

In many office spaces, the kitchen is treated as purely functional, but for this remodel, it became something much more meaningful. Positioned in the center of the office and visible from nearly every hallway and office entrance, this kitchen was designed to feel like the heart of the workplace, a place for gathering, connection, and community.

One of the client’s biggest priorities was creating a space where employees could comfortably share “family” meals together during lunch. It was important that everyone could gather around the table with enough room to feel relaxed rather than crowded. The layout was thoughtfully planned to support both everyday use and client entertaining, making the kitchen feel welcoming no matter the occasion.

Because the client has a strong passion for photography, we incorporated personal artwork throughout the kitchen area, allowing the space to feel authentic and reflective of the people who use it daily. These pieces add character and make the office feel less corporate and more connected to the company’s story and interests.

To maximize seating and functionality, we designed a custom banquette that adds both comfort and personality to the space. A bold fabric was paired with a neutral vinyl, balancing visual interest with durability for everyday office life. The combination keeps the space elevated while still being practical and easy to maintain.

Storage was another major focus throughout the design process. We worked closely with the contractors to ensure the kitchen had plenty of functional storage solutions, allowing the space to remain organized and efficient while still maintaining a clean and polished aesthetic.

The blue tile serves as one of the standout design features, subtly tying into the blue accents carried throughout the rest of the office. This continuity helps create a cohesive flow from room to room while adding depth and personality to the kitchen itself.

The finished result is a space that feels warm, welcoming, and highly functional, a kitchen designed not just for convenience, but for connection.
