We know last week was a total tease of this amazing kitchen, so we decided to start there! If you missed last week's post here is a refresher of the amazingly pristine state-of-the-art kitchen!
The colors of the cabinets, counter tops, and drawers give the room dimension really brighten up the place. The backsplash does the work of tying it all together.
Now this island is something special. If you look at some of the pictures above, there is no mixer, but then it magically appears! No we did not get the arm workout of a lifetime lifting that KitchenAid up and down from the cabinet, this mixer has its own special cabinet.
Don't get me wrong, these mixers are the best, but they are a bit of a pain (lower back to be exact) to get out of storage. Some kitchens don't have the counter space to have this appliance out all the time. So while constructing the new island in this kitchen we wanted to try something new. We thought that having a cabinet with a shelf that you can slide out and raise to hold and store the mixer! Then after you have finished baking, just lower the shelf and close the cabinet door and ta da! It is gone! What a simple and easy fix.
If you don't have room for a pantry, you have to get creative! While this is a spacious kitchen, it just didn't quite have room for a full pantry, We decided to use the extra space next to the refrigerator as a drawer like pantry. Perfect for spices, oils, sauces, and dry goods.

This kitchen definitely got our creative juices flowing!
