Three is Key

Designing a new office space offers a rare opportunity to shape every detail from the ground up. Without the constraints of an existing structure, each decision,
from the finishes to the furnishings, can work together to create a cohesive, functional, and inspiring environment.

The foundation of the design began with selecting the right paint. A balanced palette set the tone for the entire space, creating a backdrop that feels both professional and inviting. From there, flooring was chosen not just for durability, but for its ability to ground the design and add warmth and texture underfoot.

Counters and cabinetry followed, bringing both form and function into focus. Clean-lined cabinets provided essential storage while maintaining a streamlined look, and the countertops introduced subtle movement and contrast without overwhelming the space. Every surface was selected to feel intentional and cohesive. Lighting played a key role in defining the atmosphere. Furniture selection is all about balancing comfort, scale, and style. Each piece was chosen to support productivity while contributing to the overall aesthetic, creating a workspace that feels both polished and approachable.

Throughout the entire design process, we leaned on the “Rule of 3," a visual guideline rooted in how our brains naturally respond to odd-number groupings, especially three. This principle was carried through in subtle but impactful ways: layering three complementary tones within the palette, repeating materials in groups of three, and styling surfaces with thoughtfully arranged trios. The result is a space that feels balanced, dynamic, and visually complete without ever feeling forced.

This office is more than just a place to work, it’s a reflection of how intentional design can shape not only how a space looks, but how it functions and feels every day.
