This bedroom transformation has definitely come a long way. What was once a childhood bedroom, is now an elegant, hotel style suite. When redoing a room, the best thing to do is have a vision, are you looking for rustic charm, minimalist, or an elegant style? Most importantly is to choose a style that you love. We wanted to give this room an adult makeover and the first thing to do was a new coat of paint. The stripes were too young for a newlywed couple, and made the room feel small, with a lighter color the room grew exponentially in age and in size.
The sitting area was perfect for one, but when adding a new person in to your life and your home, you need them to feel welcome! Two chairs were a must! This couple needs a place to sit and talk about their future or to relax with a good book. Raising the curtains also elongates the wall leaving the ceiling feeling taller and therefore the room much bigger. We added a chandelier to finish bringing this room together. The small details are what make a space, just my removing an older light fixture the room was brought to life.
Removing posters and photos from a lifetime ago and adding wedding photos also adds a touch of personalization for the new couple. They wanted their new space to reminding them of the best day of their lives. Including photos of the couple as well as the venue helped the bedroom and bathroom flow together.
